Venezuela earthquake: protect the children.

On June 25, 2026, back-to-back 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck northern Venezuela. UNICEF estimates 1.8 million people — including 680,000 children — now need urgent humanitarian assistance. Rescue can't wait.

Every donate button below sends you directly to a vetted child-protection responder's own secure donation page. Your gift goes to them — not us — and your tax receipt is issued by the receiving organization. We've selected these partners for their existing operational capacity in Venezuela, their child-protection focus, and their independent accountability ratings.

What they are doing in Venezuela

Save the Children has worked with local partners in Venezuela since 2018 and established its own in-country team in October 2019, making it one of the few international relief actors with permission and capacity to operate inside the country. For this emergency it is scaling child-friendly spaces, family reunification, psychosocial first aid, and emergency shelter for unaccompanied minors.

Why we selected them

We selected Save the Children for its deep in-country presence, established child-protection systems, and rapid activation of safe spaces for children who have been separated from caregivers or displaced by the quakes.

UNICEF is the lead UN agency on the ground, identifying the 680,000 affected children and coordinating the child-protection response. The first UNICEF aid flight has already landed with medical supplies, water, sanitation kits, and emergency shelter materials, while child-protection teams work to reunify families and prevent separation.

Why we selected them

We selected UNICEF USA because it can move at UN scale immediately, has the mandate to lead child-protection coordination, and is already delivering life-saving supplies into northern Venezuela.

Our Vetting

Why these three.

In a disaster window, donor capital should reach organizations that already have staff, supply chains, and protection protocols in country. We don't direct emergency donations to organizations standing up new operations — we route them to responders already moving.

Read our full vetting standard →
  • Independent accountability ratings from Charity Navigator, BBB Wise Giving, or equivalent.
  • Explicit child-protection mandate — not general aid that incidentally serves children.
  • Operational presence before the disaster — established staff and supply lines, not a new entrant chasing the news cycle.

A note on compliance. The Rescue Action Fund's 501(c)(3) determination is pending with the IRS. Until that status is granted, we do not solicit, hold, or regrant donor funds. This emergency campaign is a pass-through referral only — your gift is made directly to the receiving 501(c)(3), and your tax-deductible receipt is issued by that organization under their own EIN. The Rescue Action Fund receives no portion of these donations and takes no fee.
